ABOUT Hadiseh

Hadiseh Bahrami is an Iranian-born visual artist and designer based in Dallas, Texas. Her practice is defined by a distinct textual language—a "weaving" of paint created through unconventional tools—which she uses to explore the psychological architecture of the human experience.

Holding a Master of Arts in Visual Communication from East Texas A&M University, Hadiseh possesses a deep command of visual storytelling. Her work operates at the intersection of intuitive expression and structural rigor, a testament to her background in both fine art and design. Her paintings have been recognized internationally, with different exhibitions in the United State.

ARTISTIC PRACTICE

Hadiseh’s work is characterized by the physical depth of her canvas. She creates a unique, woven topography that serves as the central narrative device across two distinct bodies of work:

The Veil (Living Against the Void) In her figurative series, Hadiseh explores the tension between the self and the external world. Here, her signature woven texture is applied as the uppermost layer—a chaotic, white web that obscures faces and forms. As seen in works depicting figures partially hidden by these scratchy, thread-like marks, the texture acts as a barrier. It visualizes the "void" and the complexities of existence that the human spirit must constantly push against.

The Foundation (Chronicles of Expression) In her abstract expressionist works, this hierarchy is reversed. The woven texture serves as the structural foundation, buried beneath bold gestures of color and energetic drips of paint. In pieces that evoke landscapes or raw emotion, the texture provides a grounding dimension, holding the weight of the artist’s daily experiences. This layering technique allows the vibrant energy of the moment to surface with intensity, supported by the deep, tactile history underneath.

PHILOSOPHY

Hadiseh views art as a method of functional problem-solving for the soul. Whether mentoring emerging designers or constructing large-scale canvas works, her goal remains the same: to bridge the gap between the seen and the unseen. Her work invites viewers to look not just at the painting, but through the layers, discovering the dialogue between the chaotic surface and the grounded spirit beneath.
